Feature 02
DIN abrasion tester machine Equip with digital counter, automatically stop after test finished.

Principles

Under certain touching pressure and contact area, sample becomes a certain angle with sandpaper and determine its abrasion performance caused by a certain level of sandpaper. Pack sandpaper outside the surface of roller. The sample is pressed against the roller with sandpaper, which makes sample lateral moving along roller. Abrasion is caused under the other side of cylindrical specimens measuring the mass loss of sample value and count the wear amount by sample density.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What materials can be tested with the DIN Abrasion Resistance Tester?
The tester is designed for measuring the wear resistance of elastic materials, rubber, tires, conveyor belts, shoe soles, and similar elastomeric products.
What test standards does this equipment comply with?
It complies with multiple international standards including DIN-53516, ISO 4649, ASTM D5963, JIS-K6369, JIS K6264-2, EN ISO 20344 section 8.3, and GB/T 9867.
How is the abrasion loss calculated?
Abrasion resistance is evaluated by measuring the specimen's mass loss before and after running across the abrasive sandpaper roller over a specified stroke (40m), then calculating the volume loss based on the specimen's density.
What is the standard specimen dimension for this tester?
The standard cylindrical specimen dimension is ø16.2 mm in diameter with a thickness ranging between 6 mm and 10 mm.
Does the machine operate automatically during tests?
Yes, it is equipped with a digital preset counter that automatically halts machine operation once the preset wear stroke/cycles are completed.
What standard accessories are provided with the instrument?
Standard accessories include 2.5N and 5N weights, P60# abrasive sandpaper, a standard cutting die, grinding head (metal blob), and power cord. Optional electronic balances and standard rubber are also available.
